About Mysore

Mysore is the second largest city in the state of Karnataka, India. It is considered the cultural capital of the state and it is one of the cleanest cities in India. Mysore is the major tourist destination in South India and also Mysore Palace (Amba Vilas Palace) is one of the most visited monuments in India. It is also known as the City of Palaces because of the notable palaces such as Amba Vilas, Mysore Palace, Jaganmohana Palace, Rajendra Vilas, Lalitha Mahal and Jayalakshmi Vilas. It is famous for the festivities that take place during the period of Dasara which attract worldwide tourists.

Mysore is the home of the famous Indian feminine wear, Mysore Silk Saree. Mysore painting is an important form of classical Indian painting that originated in Mysore city.
